"The Epidemic of Drug Overdose Deaths in America"

The New York Times published a new article today on drug overdoses in America. Deaths from drug overdoses reached a new peak in 2014–an average of 125 per day– and these levels are now similar to the death rates during the peak of the HIV epidemic in the late 80s and early 90s. Additionally, death rates from overdoses in rural areas now outpace the rate in large metropolitan areas, which historically had higher rates. Please check out the full article and map here.
