Dr. Roberto Abadie, REACH Lab’s post-doctoral researcher, will discuss his work pairing epidemiological data and ethnographic methods to produce a detailed map of how injection networks shape health outcomes among drug users in Puerto Rico. Abadie will discuss the role of the pharmaceutical industry in lowering drug costs to make access to a life saving drug a reality for marginalized patients. Dr. Abadie is also the author of The Professional Guinea Pig: Big Pharma and the Risky World of Human Subjects (Duke UP).
