On July 1, 2016 we launched a pilot project called YouRHealth (Youth Are Rural Health) aimed at teaching high school students to research, create, implement, and evaluate a wide variety of public health campaigns. The pilot program is being launched in Lexington, NE. The student created-campaigns are designed to have a direct impact on the health of their communities and will be presented at an end of semester Community Health Fair. Freshmen health students at Lexington High School are the first project participants and they will be presenting their public health campaign at the community health fair on November 29, 2016. These students will also work with UNMC Kearney nursing students to provide health screenings to their community throughout the semester. The project will continue through the 2016-2017 academic year.
We will add new posts throughout the semester as YouRhealth continues!
