How Can We Help LGBT Homeless Youth?

REACH Lab was contracted by the US Department of Health and Human Services to conduct a study of young people experiencing homelessness in eleven cities nationwide. Through this study, we found a large subset of homeless young people identified as LGBT. Melissa Welch-Lazoritz was interviewed by The Billfold for an article focused on how we can help LGBT homeless youth, who are disproportionately likely to experience victimization both before homelessness and during their time on the street, as well as disproportionately likely to report experiencing mental health problems.
