New NSF Grant Received: Enhancing Access to the Radio Spectrum (EARS)

In collaboration with Social Network Research Group at CUNY, the REACH Lab has been awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation, Division of Astronomical Sciences, as part of the Enhancing Access to the Radio Spectrum (EARS) program. the research will take place between August 2014, and July 2016 under the direction of PI Bilal Khan, John Jay, CUNY. The grant, entitled “Applying Behavioral-Ecological Network Models to Enhance Distributed Spectrum Access in Cognitive Radio” ($499,986) will support simulation modeling aimed at understanding self-organizing networks as models for radio spectrum sharing regimes under the new “cognitive radio” paradigm.
